So I'm sitting here, listening to Iron and Wine and pondering the finer points of black and white photography. I don't know...I just can't do it. Very rarely do I find a piece of my work come across better when it has been desaturated. I just love color so much (and I'm not just talking about photography)..I love looking at it...I love everything about it. Maybe I'd be a good candidate for psychedelic drugs.

Also..I seem to be incapable of taking a photo of myself that I don't hate. It's not even about being photogenic or being attractive...I'm not taking photos of myself so people can tell me how pretty I am. I want them to be powerful..I want them to mean something...and they just don't as of late.

Anyway..the fruits of my labor this afternoon.

funny how a little bit of color still got in there.

plus some of my favorite self portraits from over the years.

I love this. I wish I hadn't resized it to such a small size, but it was taken back when I was in highschool. No one else likes it. I love it. It reminds me of a darker Dorothea Lange photo, which is what I wanted.

  2. this is an interesting blog because I love black and white photography, and my favorite picture of you is the black and white one of your neck and chest with the water drops on it. There is just something so powerful and sexual about that photo.
